Inspiration of the Week: Boston, MA

A masonry inspired trip…the use of natural stone weaved through the streets, buildings and town center. The cobblestones are timeless, experiencing the fall colors of the Northeast. Photo courtesy of www.gobot.com

Inspiration of the Week: Heidelberg, Germany

Inspired by the Baroque buildings rebuilt in the 18th century, Heidelberg was hit hard during the 17th-century wars. The Heidelberg castle was by far the most impressive of all the castles I visited through Europe. The Alte Brucke Bridge, destroyed in WWII was rebuilt to perfection preserving the original details and its history.

Took a day to visit Greg, the principal architect’s, alma mater! Walking through UCDavis campus was inspiring, looking at senior architectural projects on display. As a teacher, Greg was inspired by the quality of work coming from UCD students.

Inspiration of the Week: Portland, OR

Admiring the construction of the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Bridge which is the first cable-stayed bridge for the region, extending over the Willamette River. This unique bridge will carry transit, cyclists and pedestrians but no private vehicles. Photo Courtesy of: www.trimet.org

New on the Boards!

What does every community desire…soccer fields! Thanks to the Prop 84 grant, Live Oak gets to live the soccer dream.  Starting with two fields, with complete build out at five fields, the soccer community can now improve their game by having high quality fields.  The idea is to plan for at least one synthetic field so they can play all year long.  The five fields will allow them to host tournaments and attract better players and teams to Live Oak. Once completed this park will improve youth sports in the Live Oak community and create a great place for families to come together and enjoy the play grounds, picnic areas and trail systems! Congratulations to Live Oak.
